Week 2
First thoughts… so many upsets and great games, college football is so back.
ND loses at home to Marshall, while paying them ~$1.2m, nice.
B1G
Illini roll easy against Virginia. Chase Brown averages 165 ypg.
Northwestern loses the battle of the nerds to Duke, fumbling at the goal line to tie.
Nebraska lost to Georgia Southern… see ya Scottie. If Nebraska waited until October 1st to fire Frost, his buyout would have been cut in half, from $15m to $7.5m. Some booster said I can’t wait that long, I’ll put up the other $7.5m. Frost finishes with a 16-31 record at Nebraska (0-14 vs ranked opponents).
Wisconsin loses to Washington St at home. Wisco may be the most overrated school in football and basketball over the past 5 years.
Iowa loses to ISU 10 – 7at Iowa, first time they’ve lost to Iowa St since 2014. At least they scored a touchdown.
Rest of B1G rolls easily.
Michigan may have the easiest non-conference schedule ever, we’ll see how that pays off later in the season.
SEC
Bama vs Texas was a great game, with some questionable officiating. Bama pulls off a tight win. Texas D came to play. Does Texas win if Ewers doesn’t get hurt?
Texas A&M loses to Appalachian St at A&M. The folks in Texas were sad on Saturday, it was hilarious to see.
Tennessee edges Pitt in OT.
Kentucky beats Florida 2 years in a row, first time since 1976-77.
Arkansas beats South Carolina handily.
ACC
Pitt and Virginia lose.
Pretty much everyone else wins, moving on…
Big 12
Touched on Texas and Iowa State already.
Texas Tech beats Houston in a 2OT thriller.
Kansas beats West Virginia by 13 in OT, doesn’t happen too often.
Baylor falls to BYU in 2OT.
Pac-12
USC beats Stanford 41-28, more of a fight from Stanford than anticipated.
As for the rest of the Pac-12… who cares.
Week 3 Preview
Not a whole lot of big games this week, but still there will be some good ones.

12 BYU at 25 Oregon (-3.5)
13 Miami at 24 Texas A&M (-5.5)
Other games to lookout for:
11 Michigan State at Washington (-3.5)
Fresno St at 7 USC (-12)
Texas Tech at 16 NC State (-10)
6 Oklahoma (-11) at Nebraska
22 Penn State (-3) at Auburn
Week 2 Two Team Teaser Review and Week 3 Two Team Teaser (2-1 +.6 units):
Week 2:
Alabama (-13.5) at Texas
Arkansas (-1.5) vs South Carolina
(B+7) -140
Arkansas makes easy work of an overrated Spencer Rattler. Texas played very well, a couple calls go their way and they win that game. Their defense showed up huge, something I did not expect. Still having a hard time jumping on the ‘Texas is back’ train for the past couple years and suspected this would be something similar. Props to Texas. We move to 2-1 this year on the teaser.
Week 3:
Fresno St at 7 USC (-6)
1 Georgia (-18.5) at South Carolina
(B+6) -120
Rational:
Not a whole lot of great games this week, which means a lot of large spreads. As temping as it was to take Nevada +29 against Iowa (can Iowa’s offense even put up 30 points?), I decided to go with some top 10 teams. I do like Fresno State’s QB, same one from last year, however Lincoln Riley and USC are starting to pick up steam and I like them by a touchdown here. Georgia. Georgia could very easily dismantle South Carolina like they did to Oregon. Although this is at South Carolina, and the atmosphere will be great, Rattler will throw at least one interception due to this defense. Maybe Rattler has the game of his life and keeps it close, but I’m leaning in favor of the opposite.
